On January 30, 2023, NATO Secretary General and former Prime Minister of Norway Jens Stoltenberg delivered a special lecture co-hosted by the Jean Monnet EU Centre of Excellence at Korea University. Speaking on the theme “NATO and the Republic of Korea: Deeper Partnership for a More Dangerous World,” NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg offered valuable insights into NATO’s strategic priorities, global security challenges, and its growing partnership with Korea.
The event was moderated by Professor Jae-Seung Lee, Director of the JMCOE, and attracted more than one hundred participants. NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg emphasized the crucial role NATO and its partners play in safeguarding democratic values amid rising global threats.
During the Q&A session, he further explored key geopolitical issues, including the implications of the Russo-Ukrainian War and the future trajectory of NATO–Korea cooperation.
